Narrowboat simulator

After the joy of hiring a boat a while back, something that I loved so much more than is logical, I have started following so many YouTubers and gongoozling whenever we got the chance.

Of course lockdown has out paid to a lot of that the last year and has stopped us being able to get on a boat again but the Narrowboat Simulator has certainly helped keep entertained.

Managed to get some miles in

It’s been a while since I got some real cycling in.

Since we moved I’ve hardly had the chance or so I thought. It turns out I just wasn’t trying hard enough.

This week I decided it was going to change and made a start. No real long rides but managed to get 85 miles done in a few days.

I will be trying to do 20 after work every couple of days and then a proper ride at weekends.

British F1: 2020 Cadwell Park opening action just four weeks away

Despite the ravages of the COVID-19 crisis, the British Championship season WILL get underway at Cadwell Park over the weekend of 8/9th August.

This is not the Revival as we know it, but nonetheless there will be two sessions for classic and older outfits. This is still very much a sidecar festival, although with a different feel.

Nothing is normal right now, but we are all determined that life will be as close to normal as we can possibly make it.

It is therefore vital that we have full grids for our opening round, and as such, all British Championship competitors are urged to get their entries in as soon as possible.

Given the uncertainty over recent months, and the extraordinary lengths we have gone to in order to produce a series, it is now the turn of the teams to demonstrate their commitment and sign up for the season.

We are in negotiation with Eurosport to screen a highlight show for the event, and as the opening round of our series, that is important.

So, in summary, whether you are a regular British Championship team, or a classic or period sidecar team, we would like to see your entries.

New schedule is :-

8-9 August Cadwell Park

21-23 August Snetterton

19-20 September Knockhill

2-4 October Donington Park

16-18 October Brands Hatch

We’ll see you all at Cadwell – and stay safe.

An interesting piece from Dave Stewart at Thundersport

Motorcycle Events during the Covid-19 crisis.
Getting the sport running again has been at the forefront of my thoughts over the past few weeks. To say that the current situation is unprecedented would be an understatement, but life will not be “Normal” again for some considerable time, so what is going to be the “New Normal”?

A lot has happened

We have moved to Kent. A cottage next to a church. I’ve always like the idea of a house with no number – it gives a sense of individuality to a house and this has that in oodles.

We now live in Old Church Cottage, Marden , a village in Kent.

The lockdown had just started, but we had a completion date so had to move. All done by borrowed van , just the two of us as there were no removals available.

So as of 31st March here we are.

We even got a new kettle
